Could be improved but still works great! , 9/10/13

Over all, a great product. The velcro gets caught. I would rather the inserts snap in, but does what I expect from a Flip product!
Ok, but too "diapery" , 7/31/13

I loved the idea of growing training pants and gave them a try. While the concept is great the product isn't. They are more on the diaper than on the trainer side. In fact my daughter calls them diapers.
The shell is like a diaper cover, the insert as well.
They are pretty difficult to pull down and back up.
When you snap them into the smaller sizes they are bulkier than other training pants.
The pros are, that they hold bigger accidents and that you can just switch the insert when minor accidents happen, even without removing the pants.
We use them at night and during longer car rides. For those purposes they are great.
Versatile with less bulk , 6/19/12

We came across the flip trainers by chance when our daughter was 6 months old and was inbetween sizes of the Mother Ease diapers which we started out with. For the price we couldn't resist giving them a try and after a couple of days we were hooked! We love that these diapers are quite trim to allow easy leg movement and easily fit our 15 lb daughter when we started. The velcro did take us a bit to get used to but now we just pre-load one or two of the extra covers and use those when switching inserts. They aren't as absorbent as other diapers however since we're using the infant potty training and change diapers whenever we miss the potty, this hasn't been an issue at all. For longer car rides and night time we use the Flip stay-dry inserts with the regular Flip diapers for now. As our daughter gets older I'm sure we can use the full "trainer" function of these diapers. I do think the diaper cover overlaps at the front and back could have been a bit smaller to avoid having so much cover material against the skin. Again, switching diaper covers every change on warm days to let the used one air out avoids sweat building up and will do the trick. Overall, we're quite happy with these and expect they'll be versatile enough to use until our daughter stays dry day and night.
Ok but some improvements could be made , 2/19/12

I bought one set initially of these, then because I wanted an extra shell I bought another kit. I wish they would sell shells separately. It is kind of a pain to put in the inserts after an accident because if you put it in the wrong way on the one side the velcro doesn't stick because it is upside down, but it is nice to just wipe it out but then you need to have an extra shell loaded and ready to go. I have used them at night for my daytrained little one and it works great. It has encouraged her to get up to go potty in the middle of the night instead of letting the Pull-up handle it because she can feel the wetness, so hopefully she will be night trained soon!
Good value...but a little cumbersome. , 2/18/12
By Flipping for Flip?
Flip training pants over good value for your money. Unlike other one time use trainers, this system is much more economical. The packages come in cute colours and both the shell and inserts are easy to adjust. Like the Flip diaper, the shell features a flap on each end to stuff the insert into. Better than the Flip diaper, these inserts have little velcro tabs which help to ensure the inserts stay in place...a really great feature for those with active toddlers!

The snap down rise is easy to adjust however the fit is a bit small in my opinion. My daughter is 28lbs and tall. She was on the largest rise setting. Having said that, I do like a higher rise to avoid the unattractive plumber's butt! Personally, I am using these for overnight. My daughter is fully trained during the day. The shells are great as there is plenty of room to add a little booster for additional absorbancy. If I were using these during the day I think that I might find it a bit tedious to change the inserts as they require a little maneuvering. Perhaps a snap in insert would have been a more thoughtful design. They were easy for her to pull up and down independently...an obvious necessity! As well the packaged set could be improved upon. I would love to see two shells in the package or have the shells available individually. When accidents arise, it's nice to have an extra shell to use while the other one is airing out. Overall, it's a good little starter kit, especially for the price. And if it leads to faster potty training....bonus!
